Children around the 🌍 who receive @worldfoodprogramme_official #SchoolMeals
have been getting creative to show what #ZeroHunger
means to them.
This artwork was created by Sohaimen M. Birol, a 13-year-old boy from the #Philippines
who thinks nutritious food should be on every family’s table, so that children can achieve their career dreams.
He is one of 20 winners from around the world who will receive a cash prize for themselves and one for their schools, to be spent on stationery.
Every day, countless children across the globe turn up for school on an empty stomach, which makes it hard to focus on lessons. Many simply do not go, as their families need them to help in the fields or around the house.
For all of them, a daily school meal provided by #WFP
and thanks to donors can mean not only better nutrition and health, but also increased access to and achievement in education. It is also a strong incentive to consistently send children to school.
