One year ago today, the #HuffingtonPost
published my piece on the misinformed stereotypes surrounding chronic illness, especially regarding how people that are sick should look, feel & behave.
It's a contentious topic that many people living with #invisibleillness
can relate with.
I was prompted to write it after reading some high profile comments in the media questioning the health status of Lyme Disease sufferer, Yolanda Hadid .... cause you know, if you can smile in front of a camera then that means you're faking the whole illness thing, right?
Well I certainly had a very passionate & well informed opinion to contribute. And yes, you totally guessed right, I don't hold anything back.
If you missed it, I hope you'll pop over & have a read. I'd love to know what YOU think.
P.S know someone living with chronic illness? Please SHARE this with them too. Thank you. Link in bio & below.
