Belgrade, Serbia 21 September 2017 One more at Belgrade Fortress at sunset! Various parts of the fortress were built over hundreds of years and it was an active fort even through the 20th century. If I am interpreting correctly, this section was built in the 1400's. #expats #expatliving #expatriate #internationaltravel #internationalliving #belgrade #serbia #worldcities #belgradefortress
A view from my room. Guanajuato is almost a carfree city but only where cars cannot climb the stairs. It is located 2000 meters above the sea level. Need to explore this city by taking a lot of steps because most of it isn't accessible by transit or taxi, just going up and down and walking between cars wgere possible. #guanjuato #mexico
A sunny afternoon in Rome and of course a visit to the Colosseum. I've seen countless photos, documentaries, movies of/with the Colosseum but seeing it up close and personal was definitely worth the trip. Amazing to see so much history in person. The quality of architecture from so long ago still standing strong today. Imagining the crowds of spectators 50,000 strong (holding capacity) watching animal hunting/fights, gladiator fights, flooding the colosseum to hold mini naval battles etc. it's crazy to think about all of that happening in the space. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #colosseum #rome #visitrome #italianvacation #daytrips #europevacation #historicplaces #architecture #romanruins #visititaly #travelgram #traveldiaries #wanderinggemgram #awanderingdiaries #wanderlust #wanderlusting #wanderingfeet #beautifulcities #worldcities #throughmylens #ihearttravel #mymemories

A #pedestrian crossing over an arterial with major bus routes in #cancun #mexico. It is good giving people a choice but this is the only legal choice and it is not an easy one for many people who want to cross the road and catch a bus on the other side. Elederly, moms with strollers, people with mobility issues are either unable or have difficulty using this overhead crossing. One thing about this crossing is a sure thing that people does not fall through the enclosure bars! Saw able people even taking the risks of crossing several lanes of traffic when a gap in traffic present. Cities and traffic engineers should learn that pedestrians path need to be direct and easy otherwise they will take risks. Why provide easy routes for cars but not for vulnerable road users?
Heavily damaged by the 1972 Nicaragua earthquake, the Old Cathedral of Managua now sits as gorgeous shell. Originally known as Catedral de Santiago (St. James Cathedral), the condemned church sits in a shambles of a historic downtown waiting on the possibility of a restoration.

Was meandering through the city yesterday after our visit to Boboli gardens, and happened upon this beautiful Santa Croce church. Similar facade to the Duomo, with a large square full of tourists, hawkers and entertainers. There was a very talented guy performing an array of musical renditions which truly enhanced the ambiance. Behind this church is the famous leather school known as one of the 2 locations to purchase high quality & authentic leather goods (the other being Pratesi). Popped in for a browse and saw some artisans at work as well as quite a selection of purses, wallets, journals etc. there is a wall of famed shoppers - Princess Diana, Prince of Wales, Will Smith, George Lopez, Robert Downey Jr, Madeleine Albright etc which I guess certifies their authenticity πŸ€”πŸ˜Š . . . . . . . . . . . . . #florence #exploreitaly #visitTuscany #ancientarchitecture #santacroce #firenze #travelgram #traveldiaries #wanderlusting #awanderingdiaries #wanderinggemgram #wanderingfeet #wanderluster #oldchurches #architecture #travelmemories #idreamofitaly #beautifulcities #europetravel #visitflorence #beautifulbuildings #historicalbuildings #europehistory #italianhistory #worldcities
Belgrade, Serbia 20 September 2017 I feel like I haven't done justice to the Belgrade Fortress in previous posts - It is really an amazingly beautiful spot, especially at sunset. It is a huge asset to the city. Views are incredible. #expats #expatliving #expatriate #internationaltravel #internationalliving #worldcities #serbia #belgrade #fortresses #belgradefortress
