People often ask me how I stay motivated and what my tips are on improving health and staying on track to get to your goal weight. Well, the short answer is that I have fallen off the bandwagon more than a few times and gave into eating bad food one day which would turn into a few days and then a whole week! I felt like shit, my body hurt and I have always had regrets.
So, what I have done in the past two years( yes 2 years) to get to my old self is this; breathe, take it slow and get back on track to make the best food choices for me. I have almost lost all of my baby weight( and it was a whole freekin lot!!!!). The answer to reaching your goals are so simple. For ME- this is what worked.
I never took shakes and replaced them with meals; not saying these don’t work; they most probably do! But I needed food to keep me working at my day job during the day. Second, don’t completely eliminate food groups. If you feel like bread, have a slice, if you want sushi well damn it have it! Just don’t have 10 rolls!! Haha
Third, eat a lot of colourful fruits and veggies and snack on these when hungry!! Fourth, Eat protein rich meals at dinner;
Fifth, don’t eat after dinner 🥘
Sixth, give up alcohol 🍺
Seventh, drink loads of clean filtered if possible, water and flavour the water with juiced lemon or mint, fruits or veg.
Oh, and do not eat anything that comes from a packaged box.
It takes sacrifice but the rewards are always worth it. No matter what though, the key thing is to be healthy, not thin, skinny or anything other than what you wish to be.
