M O N D A Y 💪🏼 the start of a new week! Last weekend we stayed at the @ranchobernardoinn and loved every minute! The hotel had an amazing gym which reminded me that it is possible to workout even without a class or video. I can't tell you the last time I worked out in a "regular gym" but we made it fun with dance parties in between the lunges! I'm baaaaack!!! Moving my body has never felt so good! I was in my bed for days so doing a tiny bit of weights and yoga was heaven! ✨ I tried @joelfreemanfitness 's new 18-minute Lift & HIIT workout on Beachbody On Demand, which was great (and quick)! I modified the plyo moves, though. I didn't quite feel up to jumping around yet. After that I did the Stretch series from 3-Week Yoga Retreat and my body screamed "thank you!!!!!" Not one to pay too much attention to the scale..especially since you can actually be healthier at a higher weight...but I would have definitely hit obesity this year with the rate at which I was going. Being tall and toned allowed me to hide my weight gain well. Up until last August, I mostly ate pizza, lasagna, pizza, mac&cheese....and pizza. Fruits, veggies & water did not exist in my diet. The gym did not see me more than 3 times a year either. Being "thick" is so highly praised now that so many of us women use it to condone unhealthy habits. Nothing cute about being to the ER 3 or more times a year, or lacking energy constantly.. and makes no sense saying the gym/ eating healthy is too expensive yet be pumping out cash on medical bills + junk food. The external transformation is nice...but boy do I FEEL good. Our health is an investment...not an expense. Funny how we don't really realize just how valuable it is until we lose it. #letmemotivateyou

Shout out to myself today. 6 years ago I was stuck at 104lbs with 12% body fat. All my life people commented on how skinny I was but it seemed like no matter what I did I couldn't gain body fat. I was muscular from years of gymnastics and body building but I couldn't gain weight. I wanted to be healthy enough to have kids one day so I set a goal of 130lbs with a healthy body fat percentage. I am now 138lbs with 19% body fat. I hit my goal and continue to grow. This process is what sparked my interest in women's health and gave me the knowledge, the life experience and determination to help women all over the world become the healthiest, happiest versions of themselves. Success takes time and a burning desire to accomplish your goals but you will get there. No matter how many times you doubt yourself; you will accomplish anything you put your mind to.
