DAY 8 of #WomenYogaTribe
Nadi means channel or flow, and Shodhana means purification. This is a kundalini pranayama exercise and one of my favorites for calmness of mind, relaxation and beauty. It balances the masculine and feminine of the left and right lobes of our brain, channeling oxygen to each side.
To practice Nadi, find a comfortable seat for meditation.
Bring your right hand up, palm in front of your face,
Press the index and middle finger to the third eye, center of your forehead.
Practice closing each nostril with either the thumb or pinky and ring.
Close the left nostril with your pinky+ring finger and breathe in through the right.
Plug both nostrils and hold the breath.
Open the left nostril and exhale through that nostril. Repeat 6 times on each side.
Again close the left nostril and breathe in through your right. Plug both nostrils and hold. Open the right nostril and exhale through that nostril. Repeat 6 times on each side. .
If you are struggling or going through a tough time, if you're stressed out or having an anxiety attack- this is a great exercise that will restore your calmness and peace of mind. .
Environment Fact: The Fashion Industry is the second largest contributor to climate change. Choosing natural fabrics, like plant-basted cotton or hemp, or cruelty free animal-based like wool, alpaca and cashmere reduces pollution. Buying second hand also reduces demands on new manufacturing.
