Always, always, ALWAYS listen to your body friends. The past couple of days I have been so sluggish, fighting a migraine, and clammy. I still went and got my lift in for today, but decided to skip HIIT cardio for tonight. I'm thinking that I'm a little dehydrated from all of this work I've been putting in. We often times put everyone, and everything in front of ourselves, but we have to remember to also take care of ourselves. Something that I have always struggled with. Moving forward I'm going to increase my water intake and see if that helps with how my body is feeling. Tomorrow is a rest day, and I will totally be utilizing that to hydrate, and to prep myself for the coming week. Be smart, friends. Stay healthy, be better, and try something new. πŸ₯šπŸ³What's the deal with eggs and egg whites? β€’ While the term "superfood" is often butchered, the egg is certainly a "super" food. A whole egg contains a ton of vitamins, minerals, and protein. It also contains a decent amount of fat inside the yolk, which can stack the calories up quickly. β€’ Four whole eggs would deliver a TON of nutritional value, but they would also deliver 20 grams of fat and only 24 grams of protein. There's nothing wrong with that in and of itself but when you only have a goal of 50-60 grams of fat for the entire day, you're going to have to be selective with your other foods. If you are eating low-fat foods throughout the rest of your day then by all means, eat yo eggs. β€’ The most important factor to consider is your preference. If you ❀️ whole eggs and don't eat much fat throughout the rest of your day, it's an easy decision. If you also ❀️ peanut butter, it's going to be hard to fit both into your daily fat range. If you're going to have a steak for dinner, egg whites would make your daily intake a bit more feasible. You get the point. Choose your foods based on what you want to eat and will be eating.
Post-hike Rumble Supershake πŸ‘Œ I have endless love for this drink... it's a nutrient powerhouse with 20g of protein, 3100mg of Omega-3s and 8g of fibre - but in our house, it's also lifesaver. 3 years ago, my preschool-aged daughter got very sick and was in and out of hospital. She refused to eat and @drinkrumble sustained her for weeks. It's seriously all she would have. With everything else to worry about, I was so grateful not to worry about any sketchy ingredients in her shakes. It's all real stuff. Even though she's better, we still always have flats of Rumble stocked in our pantry - and I'm drinking more than ever now that I'm such an athlete πŸ˜‚. Took a much needed 3 day break from the gym this week. So it felt great getting back at it today! Sometimes, you can get so caught up in the grind that you forget to give your body a little rest. There has been so much going on this week that this break was just what i needed. As long as I take my superfood nutrition at least once a day I know I'm always staying on track. It's too hard to mess that up!
