A Week of Reflections....
There was much to think about post natural disasters on this continent and the Caribbean in the past few weeks... yesterday was 10 Days post Hurricane Irma and 90% of our county parks remained closed... this was a Cat 1-2 Hurricane when it came through Tampa - some towns are still without electricity and the mountains of fallen trees makes the process of clean up slow and careful.... how fortunate we were... slowly the birds are coming back - my small miracle of a deer foraging in the forest with a group of wild turkeys - what an unlikely group!!! My heart ❤️ goes out to my friends in Puerto Rico and Mexico - stay strong and stay united!! So proud of these two great 🇵🇷 and 🇲🇽 ! I thank everyone who wrote to me when Florida was going through the hurricane - if anyone needs to talk - just DM me - I am always here!
My beautiful Tri colored heron was back hunting and posing... I guess I’ll be spending time at my lake for the next few weeks!
🐦 The Tricolored Heron is the only dark colored heron with a white belly.
🐦One of the most abundant herons found in the Deep South, it was formerly called the Louisiana Heron.
🐦A group of herons has many collective nouns, including a "battery", "hedge", "pose", "rookery", and "scattering" of herons." (Whatabird)
