Highlight of my day... A bushwalk with my family, finding our first ever native kauri snail, finding cave wetas in an abandoned tunnel and finding seven more 4-leaf clovers!! It was such an awesome day. We had a ball making all these discoveries! If I'm 100% honest, we went down an old train line that is prohibited to walk down. I see no reason for that though! Totally safe... But it allowed us to be alone and away from the other people enjoying nature. My daughter found the snail, but sadly it looked to have recently died. It was amazing and heavy though! We put it back where we found it.
The tunnel was awesome! The torches came out and much to our fascination and horror, there were hundreds of wetas in there! Some of those things are massive! We went in another tunnel and some hilarious person has stuck a big plastic tarantula on the wall. Our five year old freaked so badly and started crying and wanting to run through the tunnel to get away. It was extremely hard not to wet myself laughing!! 😂
And finally, our son has been on the lookout for more 4-leaf clovers since our previous finds. I've been trying to teach the kids that believing is seeing. Not that seeing is believing.
First you have to believe it, then you will see it. Feel that belief, know that it is possible. You can have the power to create anything if you believe it to be true. (Obviously within reason, I do have to say that you can't make unicorns real...). So sure enough, Jake just suddenly stops and says, "there is a 4-leaf clover!" Never did I think we would ever find them again, but he did! And there it was!! We went on to find another six in the same spot.
The Universe is magic. 😉
