We have one species of penguin in South Africa, aptly named the African penguin (though I prefer its other namesake, the jackass penguin, a name befitting a bird that brays like a donkey). These little guys stand only about a foot high, pack a nasty bite, and cruise through the seas like tuxedo'd torpedoes. It's a privilege to share these chilly Cape waters with them.
