Many of you may not be aware of this but maybe that's because I don't talk about it enough 🤔 but I suffer from psoriatic arthritis and it really puts me off doing upper body at the gym when really, I love back and shoulder day ☹ my biceps continue to grow but working my triceps is so hard because I can't straighten my arms properly and it's so frustrating. Started the week off with an upper body workout today. My arms and shoulders were feeling it for sure. Upped the weights a lot. Upper body always takes a back seat but made today’s workout count. Time to grow 💪🏽 #mondaymotivation
I only have about two days this week to workout at my favorite facility (leaving Thursday afternoon), so I figured: why not do a full upper body day today, and a lower body day tomorrow? I fine-tuned my two workouts to effectively hit as points of my body as possible, but boy oh boy; supersets certainly test you! Charged right through 45 sets of upper-body exercises, and even did 12 sets of core towards the end. Time of the workout? 90 minutes. It's one thing to know how to write a workout and perform each exercise correctly, but knowing how to effectively time-manage a workout and stay on track can effectively make or break your routine. While I didn't do a cardio stint today, it certainly feels like I did! 😂 The bulking is going well, and I'm also making some good changes to my cooking and dietary habits. Feeling healthy, feeling strong, and feeling fit on this great Monday afternoon! Have a good rest of your day everyone! That said, however, a lot of us actually LOVE being in the gym and will find any excuse to be in there more frequently. If that’s you, then a Legs/Push/Pull workout like the one above is perfect! Happy Training Monday and Christmas week! This morning’s training session involved some L Seated Dumbbell Presses (3 sets) (x20reps) as one of my accessory movements to help increase my upper body strength. After only one week in this new cycle my upper body feels so much stronger. Bring on those gains! Also can’t believe tomorrow is the big day: ACSM CPT test day!
