This is embarrassing.
I’ve known this day was coming where I ran out of grant money and maxed credit cards just to stay afloat.
I’m a 30 year old with multiple degrees and face plastered on the internet having to beg.
What can you possibly do to make a quick buck to cover next month’s bills? Sell plasma. I did before. I almost passed out and the needles left scars but at least I had gas money. Sex work. I could make an incognito Tumblr page. No one would know if I sold a few ‘butt’ pics to some scum living in a basement. ‘Leah V, Muslim Blogger Sells Nudes’. 🤦🏿♂️ I could take on clients that I’ve recently denied and sell shit like Flat Tummy Tea, bundles of weave, and teeth whitening kits.
How stupid of me to think that I could possibly be an organic content creator…
Honestly, I can’t maintain this.
And, I’m crying as I write. I don’t have a savings or parents or family, really. It’s all me right now.
Just because you are Insta-Famous doesn’t mean that you are capitalizing off of it. Social media attention does not equate cash flow. It’s possible to be broke and poppin.
I have NEVER made a penny off my blog. I don’t make money modeling. I live in Detroit. You get the photos and that’s it. I do everything mostly for free, and I’m on the brink of quitting. And, I’m angry. Why do I not value myself enough to charge? Instead of complaining, I’m gonna DO!
So, will you help me continue to create?
I’m selling ‘10’ spots of 1 on 1 sessions.
In this 30-minute video session, you can pick my brain, ask me questions about branding, building social media platforms, modeling, body-image, whatever. It’s your time. I’m charging $99 per session.
And, if you just want to donate you can Venmo or PayPal.
And, if you can’t do that, all I ask is that you offer me a blessing.
