Can flex Tricep Thursday be a thing??? I'm proud of the package that I am putting together for my next show! I recently had my boss take my measurements and body fat composition. Even though I might have only lost 7 lbs so far, I have lost 4% body fat, an inch in my waist, gained half and inch in my arms/ thighs but more importantly gained 5 lbs of muscle! I've been discouraged that the scale hasn't moved the way coach wants, but I'm following what he says to a T and leaving the rest up to God. Weight hasn't moved much but body fat has... Ill take it. Still wanting to drop at least another 4% or so in body fat. A year ago I came across Ben Pakulski (The Pak-Man, IFBB) single arm cable workout. F$*k me! SURPRISE!!!!! Yesterday I did a Shoulder/Tricep session at Gold’s Gym- it was a quiet time in the gym which is how I like it! For my ‘Bodybuilding’ style sessions I tend to focus on one muscle group but include another to utilize my time in the gym as much as possible. This 2 part series was at the end of the complete session and I did 3 rounds- 20 reps the 1st exercise and 10 reps the 2nd then rested about 30-40 seconds. First move was a ‘concentrated, straight-arm triceps extension’ superset with the ‘Twisty 1-arm DB Rear Delts’. I’m not super creative on names of exercises.. but hopefully you get the point. Main thing on the 1st move is to SQUEEZE from your lats/back, rear delts down into the triceps (they are all connected so you should be able to feel this nicely). In order to get the best out of this, you must focus on this move keeping it really tight .. the 2nd movement you will rotate your hand so it would appear your thumb is moving up towards your armpit and you will once again FOCUS on the rear delts making this movement happen. You shouldn’t need a huge DB.. and I would be cautious using too heavy a DB anyways for rear delts. The Squeeze is most important in my opinion than too heavy a DB where you have the opportunity to injure this delicate muscle group. Keep the core snug.. and eye level slightly raised on the ‘Twisty’ so you don’t end up hunching over from looking down as your body will follow your eyes typically. ⚫️124lb/56kg bell & 40lbs/18kgs chains⚫️x5 strict ring pull-ups with 124lb/56kg bell complex of Turkish get up to bent press to reverse Turkish each side done back to back all done as 1 set for 5 sets with this bell & chain weights. Full video is on my Facebook - each set took around 2:00 minutes. Prior, hit just the complex (each side back to back as 1 set, 2 sets per bell), with bells of 35lb/16kg, 44lb/22kg, 53lb/24kg, 62lb/28kg, 70lb/32kg, 88lb/40kg, 106lb/48kg (just 1 set with this bell, hit x5 40lbs/18kgs chain ring pull-ups just like the video for this warm up set). After, hit a superset of same complex with 70lb/32kg bell waiter held each side done back to back with 2 124lb/56kg bells farmers walks (forwards & backwards walking for decent distance) all done as 1 set for 5 sets. Next, was same complex with 70lb/32kg bell waiter held each side back to back with strict dips x5 wearing 40lbs/18kgs chains all done as 1 set for 5 sets. Ended with another superset of Turkish get ups bottoms up grip unbroken x2 each side (4 rep sets) with 44lb/22kg bell with 2 62lb/28kg bells loaded overhead carries (forwards & backwards walking for medium distance) all done as 1 set for 5 sets. Ended with a 2 62lb/28kg bell overhead isometric hold for :45 seconds. All the isomeric holds, bottoms up grip, & waiter work I've been doing are paying me monster dividends. 6 days in a row of hard training means shutting it down tomorrow for the rest day. Snap City.
