If ever you need to put something in perspective, drive to the mountains, camp in a really dark place, and look up.
Had this view at night, woke up to snow at 4am and bouncing headlamps headed up to the saddle between Mt. Democrat and Mt. Cameron. Hit the trail around 7am to blowing windy and snow. Slippery conditions prevailed as we ascended Democrat but once we hit the summit a windy blue sky day was revealed and we enjoyed the view (and 40mph wind gusts) about the trees for the rest of the day on the DeCaLiBron Loop.
