We just got back from USA Tuesday, and we have been stuck with using a bottle at nap time and bed time. We both agreed that when we got back it was time to ween her off--mainly because she was chewing the nipples off (choking hazard) and because we didn't even fill the bottle with anything besides sometimes water. It was a comfort thing. •
We got back in the morning so her sleeping on the plane was perfect for the time change. We let her sleep on the drive home and we're going to keep her up until she was ready for bed. •
We got her to bed in less than 5 minutes without a bottle. She did wake up a lot that first night and slept until after 10am--but we did it!!!!!
These past couple days have been sad to walk out of her room and hear her cry, fortunately she hasn't cried longer than 5 minutes before she realizes she is so tired. But even that 5 minutes seems like forever. •
This morning she woke up and seemed like she really needed cuddles, so before I even changed her diaper I snatched her up, wrapped her in her comforter and just rocked her. She was so filled with worry that I could barely even change her diaper without her thinking I was going to leave the room. (We lay her down usually and walk out, same motion as a diaper change) right after I snapped her diaper closed she lunged up and leaped her a huge hug. So I bundled her up again and brought her in our room. Kyle turned Moana on and we have all been cuddling together ever since. •
