NUTRITION MISTAKES #2 YOUR MISSING OUT THE LITTLE THINGS Are tracking your macros and calories but not adding in cooking oil, butter, glasses of juice at breakfast and milk in your coffee and tea? Do you weigh out your nut butter or eyeball a tablespoon or 'handfuls' of nuts. You'd be surprised at what 30g of nuts actually looks like when you weigh it out. It's easily done, especially with peanut butter (I am 100% guilty of being over generous with my 'tablespoons'). Take a minute before you cook your meals to enter in EVERYTHING you put in to the recipe. Measure out your fat sources. To give you an example if you were to cook in 1tbsp oil at 3 meals during the day and not accounting for it that's a minimum of 360 extra calories your taking on board, and that's if you have measured instead of eyeballing. Shown here is 2 Courgettes grilled in 1tbsp walnut oil, so when I put it into my fitness pal over 4 servings it'll be 1/2 tbsp walnut oil in each. Even if you aren't tracking, it's worthwhile understanding how many calories are in these little additions to meals and having some standard measures to stick to. #nutrition #habits #macros

First day back doing squats with a bar since doing my knee in. Going light to ensure good form, getting the ROM that i want. Ensuring I'm getting activation through my glutes and hammys. I got caught up trying to lift as heavy as possible before doing my knee without realising I wasn't getting good activation. Time to build that weight up with activation. Felt good squatting again.

#Repost from our man @dr.jacob.harden spreading the good word on loosening up the pecs! ・・・ HOW I LOOSEN UP THE PECS Tight pecs are one of the main reasons for limitations in overhead mobility and for rounded shoulder postures. And they're usually a staple after getting a pump on the bench press.💪 . I take a 3 step approach to loosening up the pecs. . First we do the best pec stretch ever. For this, make sure the ribs are tucked down. Start out wide and reach overhead. If you can get all the way back, inch the hands in. You'll get a great stretch at the bottom.↔ . Then we do some eccentrics to teach our brain how to control the lengthening process. I find that this step really helps to keep things from retightening back up right after. . Lastly, we go the other way and lock in our new ROM by actively using it. Lift the bar overhead, making sure not to hyperextend the spine. . I like 10 to 20 of each anytime I want to attack the pecs. Try it out and thank me later.😆👌 . Tag a friend with tight pecs and share the wealth!

"I don't make my own meals because it takes too long" To put it bluntly, no it doesn't, you just haven't made it a priority. If making a change in your fitness, body composition, performance is a priority to you then nutrition must have a place in there too. Here's a few tips for you: Protein sources- keep tins of salmon (shown here), tuna handy and cook up joints of meat, chilli's, whole chickens in bulk at the start of the week. Veggies- buy a bag of mixed frozen veg, chuck it on top of meals to bulk them out. Or like I've done here roast a load all at the same time. Carbohydrates- roast or boil a load of potatoes, bulk cook rice or buy ready to microwave bags in bulk. Fats- bottles of oils, pesto, Olives, butter, nut butter all keep for ages. Keep them stocked in your house. It takes maybe 2-3 hours max out of your week to get sorted ahead of time with food. So if you're watching TV for 1 hour+ every evening and your saying you don't have time to sort out food...time isn't the issue. #nutrition #habits
