Making use of the best compound movements, the bench press. I’m a big fan of the compound exercises: back squats, deadlifts, pull-ups, etc. etc. Compound exercises provide many benefits.
1) large number of muscle groups used per exercise
2) lowering the amount of time you need to spend in gym. More muscles targeted in less time
3) provide for the greatest anabolic hormonal response
4) not overloading specific joints with isolated movements. Functional and sport specific movements with compound exercises
5) by reducing the amount of time spent on weight training by increasing efficiency, you can spend more time on other components of your fitness: flexibility work, core, cardiovascular, etc.
