Amazing final session today with @agovavic! We've spent the last 6 weeks building movement back into both knees, as full movement was never regained post-op and causing a few problems. As the 🏀 season approaches, it is a good idea to incorporate exercises that prevent injury while also training the body to use all of those new strength #gainz from offseason training. @maddy.mann is performing a #unilateral stability obstical course. Some benefits to this functional exercise are: 1️⃣ Injury prevention - especially for female athletes, who are more prone to knee injury 2️⃣ Force Absorbsion - Training the body to absorb more force will decrease chance of injury as well as increase quickness/explosivness 3️⃣ Stability - Unilateral exercises increase joint stability 4️⃣ Muscle Recruitment - More muscle fibres are activated when the athlete is forces to balance and absorb more force during unilateral movements Credits to @acceleration_performance for this exercise🙏 #BounceEvolution

Putting it all together after individualizing each component separately [reaction, coordination (eyes + arms + legs ) , agility , static- dynamic balance, anaerobic part] The idea for him is to train and adapt to dynamic balance from all angles on both feet under very high HR... lot of times in any sport athletes will face this challenge -having a good dynamic balance after high intensity bouts. This kid is a great athlete, my goal for now is “just” to keep him healthy and injury free. We have some EXCITING news!! From 2018, Up & Coming Athletes will be taking over the running and management of Surf Coast Secondary College's Sports Academy. The schools Sports Academy has been running for four years and seen a large number of students benefit from fitness and skills coaching in a variety of sports. Our team is looking forward to working with the school community to take the current program to the next level and assist these young athletes unlock their potential, be the best they can be and develop skills for life. We will be offering a range of additional coaching, support, strength & conditioning and allied health services, along with specialist programs in AFL (Girls & Boys), Basketball, Netball, Hockey, Soccer, Athletics, Swimming, Tennis and Triathlon. Additionally, through this partnership Surf Coast Secondary College and Up & Coming Athletes will be collaborating in 2018 to co-host a range of community events and workshops around junior sport and physical activity.
