Introducing Phillippe D'Anjou, a Human of the CSIA Alberta. Originally from Quebec City, Phil now spends the Northern Hemisphere winter in Lake Louise, transitioning to Chile for their winter. "Since I was 3 years old, I was in snow school taking lessons, so when I turned 15, it made sense to become an instructor.
I grew in the industry by getting my level 1, then becoming a trainer, snow school director, and race coach. Two years ago, I decided to be full time on snow, so I moved from the east to the west. I now work at The Lake Louise Ski Resort & Summer Gondola and tail guide with Purcell Heli-Skiing. During our summer, I work for Portillo in Chile.
Meeting awesome people and being paid to be on skis is great. I enjoy helping people push their limits and go outside of their comfort zone. Ski instructing makes me travel and see the world. (My advice is to) always be learning by taking avalanche and first aid courses. It is really easy to party in the ski industry but finding the right balance between training, learning and partying have always been really successful for me." #csiaab #csiaamsc #snowpro #snowproab #skiinstructor #skiing #skiquebec #skichile #skisouthamerica #skiyyc #skialberta #travel #inspiration #lakelouise #banff #skilouise
