As retailers it is important to understand the supply chain of your products, there is a continual focus, and rightly so, on #ethicalsourcing
with large retailers making it a priority to invest in developing this area so the supply chain is more transparent. @unicef
is currently working with Scandinavian retailers on the issue of #childlabour
as in 2016 there were 152million children working under stressful conditions.
As a smaller retailer it's important to align your sourcing strategy with the ethics values you hold and that of your brand.
Buying cheap doesn't necessarily mean it's the best!
Products that are ethically sourced demand a higher price point and consumers who are passionate about this topic are willing to pay the price. That being said it's important that you communicate this continually with your customers, get your message out there and shout it from the roof tops!! Much love x
