I started following Rising Men Lawn Care last year. What captured my attention?
The fact that Rodney Smith Jr. created the business out of a charitable act. He stopped to help an elderly man mow his yard. Then eventhough he was in college he kept on mowing lawns (and doing lawn care) for the elderly, sick, and single moms.
To date he's been honored by the city of Huntsville and even Queen Elizabeth to name a couple. While I'm impressed that his business has garnered this kind of attention to shine a light on the people he blesses, I'm more touched by how he continues to expand.
He's set up a system to encourage youths to help in their community, and spur them to achieve educational excellence at the same time. He's also reached out to the homeless in his area. He visits them, talks to them, and has made it his mission this year to stop in every Alabama city (and some neighboring cities) to hand out gifts to the homeless.
As someone has said his compassion is contagious. If you'd like to help, you can check out his Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/raisingmenlawncarehsv/
