You're probably ready for the office holiday party next week as we wrap up the year. Well if you're looking to stay in control, keep reading!
Go green at a potluck and load up on vegetables first. Then leave a small amount of room for dishes that you want to try, but may not be the healthiest thing to eat. As tempting as it is to munch mindlessly on chocolate and candy, "eat what you love, leave what you don't." Choose your indulgences wisely instead of eating food that you don't really care about. It's also important to listen to your body and pay attention to your hunger and satiety cues.
Along with vegetables, dig into more substantial dishes first like protein. Protein is grounding and filling, and will stop you from overeating carbs and sugar, which are plentiful around the holidays. If you can fill up with a small plate of protein and vegetables, then it's okay to have a cookie or a piece of bread–at least you've put some nutrition into your body.
