Can you guess the most frequently asked question about my own wedding? Surprisingly it's not "how did you build the timeline?" or "what vendors did you use?" It's a tiny little detail, and one that nearly did not happen!
You see, I knew it would be chilly and I wanted something a little fashion forward to accessorize my bridal look. I spent hours searching the internet and every store at the mall trying to find the perfect item. I tried furs, wraps, gloves...but nothing seemed quite right. 5 days before my wedding I found this gorgeous blush feather bolero from asos and instantly fell in love, but of course it was sold out. I was heart broken. As a last ditch effort I popped over to EBay and couldn't believe my eyes! One sweet girl in the U.K. was selling this exact one! I sent her a desperate message asking if I could pay for expedited shipping and she thankfully agreed! It arrived THE DAY BEFORE my wedding and I could not have been more thrilled!
You see, the reason I chose this feather bolero is because it made me feel beautiful. It was a little outside my comfort zone, but I also knew I would not regret it. It was 12° on November 21st, 2015, but when I slipped it on I knew I was glowing. It still makes me smile every time I catch a glimpse of it in my closet or come across this wedding photo. To all the friends out there struggling with their bridal look here is my advice: follow your heart! Choose pieces that light you up and make you feel special. I look back on that day and know I felt my most beautiful, and to me that's priceless!
My heart nearly exploded when (just shy of 2 years later) I found out that Style Me Pretty was including it in their list of "Stylish Ways Real Bride's Kept Warm at Their Weddings," and seeing them call it "ultra-fashionable" definitely made me blush! Such a lovely throw back and one I want to keep remembering over and over 💕
