August 7, 2011 - Tibetan monks chant Buddhist sutras for 7 days during an event for a group of pilgrims along the holy Kora of Amnyemachen. * * * The group of Tibetans were kind enough to let is camp along their tents. Trust me, they never stopped through the night. The next day, we had been invited in the prayer tent to participate. From around this angle I was able to see through the cracks of the tent panels and saw bicycle wheels go by. Alerting Brandon as I jump up, throwing a quick glance and head nod to the door, we exit quickly. Catching a couple hooligans trying to ride our fully loaded bikes along the plateau for fun. I try not to get upset over this because they showed wonderful hospitality...so I explain you must be careful and stop. If our bikes break, we will be stuck. They want to continue riding, and a group grows around us and we decide it's just easier to leave than haggle over why we don't want everyone riding the bikes. Eventually, I came up with a trick to stop this...like the time some guy in Uzbekistan jumped on my bike so I opened his truck door and jumped in to begin to start the engine. You mess with my ride, I'm gonna mess with yours.

A student rushes past the entrance of an abandoned subway on Sheshadri Road, located in the vicinity of undergraduate colleges in #Bengaluru. A project of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) completed in 2010, the subway is now littered with garbage and emanates a foul odor making it inoperable for commuters. The subway was built to reduce foot traffic in the student-populated area especially during peak hours, but has proved redundant. Now dilapidated, the subway demands attention and restructuring from the BBMP despite several complaints by pedestrians . * Manjunath Prasad, Commissioner, BBMP said that he was unaware of the condition of the subway and that it was abandoned. #onthejob #photojournalism #dailylifeindia #reportagem
Vehicles burn at a home on West Lilac in Bonsall during the Lilac Fire. You’ll notice the headlights on the van at right. They weren’t on moments before this picture was made. The headlights came on their own as the flames engulfed the vehicle. Perhaps something to do with the burning wires. Little did I know then, I came to find out the home was also a finch bird farm. About 10,000 birds dead and the home destroyed. A woman saw my published photo of the home burning and got in touch with me about what I saw. It’s her parents home. Her parents are currently out of the country. Her brother lives just down the street as well. He was forced to evacuate. His home was spared. Now we have this little connection and we’ll be doing a recovery/picking up the pieces story on the family’s bird farm in Bonsall.✌🏻 #lilacfire #bonsall #fallbrook #wildfire #photojournalism #photojournalist #picoftheday #photooftheday #documentaryphotography #myfeatureshoot #burnmagazine #burndiary #burnmyeye #reportagespotlight #lensculture #cobblescope #ifyouleave #justgoshoot #everydayeverywhere #villagenews #newspaper

CUBA: THE VALLEY OF TRADITIONAL AND ORGANIC AGRICULTURE Between the embargo of the United States (1962) and the fall of the USSR (1991), Cuba lost its main import possibilities. The country's agriculture has been deprived of agricultural equipment, chemical fertilizers and other pesticides. Necessity is the law, we must continue to produce for food, and for that, traditional and biological agricultural techniques have developed. This required a transition period but the result is the rendezvous because the island has almost completely converted to organic. Here is the dream of ecologists around the world that has come true. #photography #Photographer #photojournalism #photojournalist #irimages #streetphotography #streetPhotographer #street #studiohanslucas #life_is_street #reportage #reportagespotlight #hanslucas #myspc #documentaryphotographer #documentaryphotography #photoobserve #timeless_street #cuba #vinales #travel #traveler #travelling #travels #voyage #voyager #trip #travelstagram #solotravel #tripstagram
August 7, 2011 - A Tibetan pilgrim boils water inside a traditional yak hair tent. This tent will be used for food preparation and eating during a week long prayer event along the northern kora of Amnyemachen. Kham, Tibet. Pilgrims make a trek to the holy mountain and will often set up camps and bring in monks to lead prayers to honor the mountains. * * * Having cycled to the last pass, along a dry and dusty road, we we're hit with a blast of wind and hail. Brandon dug himself against the mountain wall along the road next to this encampment of tents. He told me to stop and hunker down with him, in hopes we would be invited in for tea and a dry place to stay warm to wait out the storm. Within a few minutes of being pelted violently with hail, a few pilgrims came over and insist we enter the tent for some tea and tsampa.
