Dinner is served🙌🏻 carne asada pictured alongside mashed rutabaga and cauliflower is simple and delicious! I love cooking with rutabagas, they were my savior on the GAPS Diet when I eliminated potatoes to heal my gut and I always feel like they’re the forgotten root veggie. They’re a cross between a turnip and a cabbage and I use them in various recipes to alternate with potatoes.
Rutabagas have a tremendous amount of health benefits like high in sulfur compounds and other antioxidants which have cancer fighting properties. They’re also an excellent source of fiber which helps support gut health as well as B vitamins, magnesium and vitamin C.
To make Mashed Rutabaga & Cauliflower, simply added chopped rutabagas, cauliflower and garlic to a pot and sauté in @fatworks
ghee seasoned with @redmondrealsalt.
Add 2C bone broth and bring to boil then reduce to simmer until veggies soften. Purée with an immersion blender and serve garnished with chopped parsley and thyme. Full recipe to Mashed Rutabagas on my website link in profile! Ps: don’t forget to share my recipes with #fairygutmother!!
Love seeing what you all are making and any variations you’ve taken with the recipes!
