Prophet of Rage

Genre: Rap Rock
Prophets of Rage is a rap rock supergroup that has emerged in the past year. The group consists members of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, two members of Public Enemy DJ Lord and rapper Chuck D, and rapper B-Real of Cypress Hill. The whole gimmick of this band is that they super political and they were formed after Trump was elected president. This whole album is basically about how America is messed up from the government and all their Laws. Musically I feel this album is really outstanding Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine does a great job at bringing the guitar to life and giving the songs some depth. The drums also play a part in this depth that adds a lot of life to these songs. However I really don't care for the song writing or the rapping on the album. I like the messages that their trying to get across it's just the way they percent it doesn't really affects me in a way and I find myself getting kind of get bored while listening. The opener “Radical Eyes” i felt was one of the better songs on the album. It says the tone for the album. My favorite song on the album has to be “Unfuck the World”. It's a powerful anthem with a lot of life with some great musically to go along with it. “Hail to the Chief” has a pretty good hook that got stuck in my head for about a week. “Strength in Numbers” is pretty simple but gets the job done in my opinion. Overall if your fan of Rage or Autoslave you'll find a lot of enjoyment in this record. It definitely has a unique sound that you don't hear much nowadays and and kind of hits on some nostalgia from the mid-2000s. I hope they can learn from this record and improve and make a kick-ass record next time.
