Is anyone else sick of seeing the whole ‘no excuses if I can do it you can do it’ bullshit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Had a conversation with a friend this morning about this. Everyone feels the need to remind people that there are no excuses for not getting that workout in. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But maybe there is, maybe somebody doesn’t want to get up at 4am after 5 hours sleep to workout before the baby wakes up. Perhaps someone doesn’t want to hit the gym after work if it means missing bathing their little one. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Everyone is different, everyone has different commitments. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am a big advocate of whatever works for you. If you want to workout 3 times a week if that’s all you can fit in then that’s amazing. If you want to workout in the morning before work do it. Equally working out after work is just as good so why is there this ‘smugness’ about getting it done before 7am? How about everyone is just grateful we have the health to even workout once a week. Instead of using mayonnaise in your sandwich, cheese on your cracker, or creamy dip for your veggie sticks, try using some #hummus! Here is the #recipe: Place 1 can of #chickpeas, 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice, 1/4 cup tahini, ½ garlic clove (minced), 4 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil, 2 tbsp water, a big pinch of salt, and ½ teaspoon ground cumin in a food processor and process until smooth. If the hummus is too thick, pulse in more water, a tbsp at a time, until the desired consistency is reached. Taste, adding more salt and lemon juice as needed.
