I remember asking my dad one time while playing catch out in the yard, "How many throws do you think I've made out here over the years?" And his response was one I'll never forget, "About as many as I've thrown back!" My development as a pitcher growing up wasn't a result of fancy drills or special training; it was directly related to my commitment of consistently playing catch back and forth out in the yard.. a commitment that required just as much from my father as it did me.
All these years later, there still aren't many things in this life I enjoy more than playing catch with my dad! This video was taken during a family trip to Ireland; and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to play some catch out in the countryside of our ancestors!
Some guys pitch more downhill than others. Pedro was a little bit, Seaver was a lot. Either way I love them both. Seaver was 6 ft 1in, Pedro was 5 ft 11 in, but still threw🔥 They won 3 Cy Young awards each. They were strikeout machines, world champions, and hall of famers.
