I have to take a few posts to talk about someone who has become one of the most important people in my life. @trickofthetreyd
and I met 8 years ago in college; I’ll never forget how much this Texas boy made me laugh throughout our entire time at Berklee. We started working together in 2010, and I had the total pleasure of having his percussion and musical knowledge make the music we created nothing short of magical - he still does so.
Five years ago, we decided to give love a shot, and when I say that he has changed my life for the better, it is truly a massive understatement. I’ve never been so grateful for a person who loves, cherishes, and embraces all parts of who I am: the good, the wacky, the beautiful, and the ugly. Love, compassion, humor, wit, charm, empathy, understanding, love of family, love of community, patience, musical depth, talent…these are only a few of the things that make him the astonishing man that he is. I WISH you could all know him the way I do - he is extraordinary and I look up to him in so many ways.
We have come so far, experienced so much, and grown immensely into people that we are proud to be, especially as a team - both in music and in life. I thank everything and anything that thought that we should be together. He is one of my greatest blessings…and he still makes me laugh every day.
Happy Anniversary, Trey.
