Afro - Latino, que significa eso? Finally a better way to identify in society, a sense of worth, and belonging. For many years the term Afro Latino wasn't a "thing". You were either white, black, or "Hispanic". To be both, was just not okay, in the United States. So for the past decade or so, the identity of what it means to be black and Latino has finally reached the surface. To be Afro Latino means to be of mainly or visibly African blood with a Latin heritage/culture, from Latin America or Latin Europe. Many people love to rule out Haitians and Brazilians but they are definitely Afro Latinos!!! Racial identity in the United States can be very complex and confusing. Here, it's harder to be who you are due to times where people tend to put everyone together through a "check box". But it's much more deeper than that. Afro Latinos come in many shapes, sizes and colors; some dark, some light. But it's our African and Latin influences that make our culture unique, and it's something that should be recognized and celebrated. ✊🏿 be proud! 😎 #afrolatinos #africandiaspora #negra #negro #orgullo #orgulloso
