Up on the blog: "Potato" pancakes made with cauliflower, broccoli and carrots!
Today I had a wonderful interview with the gals from #thewellandbalancedpodcast
and we talked about how easy it is for people to miss the entire context when it comes to health. Nothing, from nutrition to exercise and beyond, occurs in a vacuum, and what works great for one person may not for another. Take this meal for example: cauliflower, broccoli and carrots are all healthful foods in general but may not be if you're battling digestive issues, have a microbuome imbalance or low pancreatic function.
Is that something you're going to hear in this months Shape Magazine? Probably not. The headline would go more like this ..."Add broccoli to your diet and lose 10 pounds tomorrow!" Attention grabbing yes, but then when you add broccoli to your diet and find yourself bloated and in stomach pain, you might take that on to mean there's something wrong with you or you'll never reach your goals and that couldn't be further from the truth. There's power in knowing your body - just because some health blogger or Instagram influencer (myself included) tells you something is healthy, doesn't mean you're off the hook for doing your own investigative research.
Find what works for you. That's been, and will always be, the message. 👊
