I'm one excited lass this wonderful Saturday morning. Whilst at Loblaws yesterday I picked up close to 3 kilos of #groundbeef
that was half off. Costing me $15.00. I thought to myself... what on earth can I do with all of this? So, I figured I should look up a recipe for my favourite #brekkie
staple. The #lornesausage
Cause honestly it's hit or miss to find and expensive.
I came across this recipe and I've just prepared for my first batch. Hopefully this recipe is as close to what we are used to in my family. I'd like to do this for my parents and grandparents households when I visit next.
750g minced #beef
150g pinhead #rusk
200g chilled water
2 tsp #salt
1/2 tsp grated #nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp ground #coriander
1 1/2 tsp ground #blackpepper
Mix all the spices and salt with the meat in a large bowl. Work in the water to make a sticky mixture. Now work in the rusk until all is thoroughly incorporated. Pack the mixture tightly into loaf tray lined with clingfilm. Leave it in the fridge for 24 hours to set. Then slice it. Lightly fry it. Freeze patties with parchment paper in freezer bags. Take out to use whenever needed.
Here's hoping for success tomorrow morning!
