☄🦄SOOOOOO here it is!🦄☄ My baby for Transformations Connected Mural Series part of the Pan Am Path's Relay 2017! This has been the most fun and challenging mural I’ve painted so far. This piece has various elements that mean a lot to me and that represent my journeys throughout my beloved Latin America which I wanted to bring to Toronto and to my Latin community to feel connected and represented. Two Quetzalcoatl serpents that meet an owl (one of my all time favourite birds) which is protected by two pre-Columbian figures. Behind the owl is the cosmos and vibrating energy. Like most of my pieces, my characters wear a pendant or necklace in this case, she is wearing a triangular quartz <3 on her forehead three sacred coca leaves aaaand I could go on about what this piece means to me and the symbology behind it but instead I want you guys to just look and connect with it 💜☄ I’ve been very blessed this year painting quite a lot and being part of dope projects but most importantly, having AMAZING individuals around me who are constantly pushing to do my best with grace and love. Gracias a mi gente that supported me through the weeks of hard work whether it was emotionally or painting with me. Huge shout out to my XYZ family, I don’t know where I’d be without their love and encouragement, thank you for believing in me and helping me in the process of bettering my style and aerosol techniques. This is just the beginning of a long journey and I'm so so so inspired, grateful and really really happy to have the opportunity to transform public spaces into more interesting places for people in the big grey cities to see. Big big thanks to @stepsinitiative for including me in this beautiful project, proudly I am one of the five female artists who beautified this space. If you would like to see my work the exact address is: Lakeshore and Cherry along the Main Goodman Trail 😊 Hope you all like this piece mi gente 💖Some Muisca love for my belovedToronto!!! 💖 #toronto #torontoart #torontostreetart #latinamericanstreetart #montanacans #montanablack #graffiticolombia #graffitiwomen #distillerydistrict #muisca #cocaleaves #aho #precolombinos

À 1h de Bogota, montagnes, prairies et laguna Guatavita #MVC #Colombie
Simplemente hermoso! #music
A few days into being back in #colombia, i spent a memorable day at laguna #guatavita, a couple of hours north of #bogotá. This famous place is home to the legend of #Eldorado. In earlier times, the soon to be leader of the indigenous tribe #Muisca set of on a raft, covered in gold jewelry and gold dust, to jump into the lake, as a symbol of adoration towards the gods. When the Spaniards came later, they even tried to drain the lagoon, but never quite found what they were looking for, because the used gold was not pure enough and the efforts to drain the lagoon cost them way to much.
El Dorado (pronounced [el doˈɾaðo],English: /ˌɛl dəˈrɑːdoʊ/; Spanish for "thegolden one"), originally El Hombre Dorado (the golden man), or El Rey Dorado (the golden king), was the term used by the Spanish Empire to describe a mythical tribal chief (zipa) of the Muisca native people ofColombia, who, as an initiation rite, covered himself with gold dust and submerged in Lake Guatavita. The legends surrounding El Dorado changed over time, as it went from being a man, to a city, to a kingdom, and then finally an empire. #history #american #nativeamerican #indian #indigenous #southamerican #myth #muisca #eldorado #gold
