Living at the end of the road has its pros and cons. It can feel isolated at times, not always a lot going on (especially past 8pm) and it’s a drag to have to drive 2-4 hours to get basically anywhere civilized. On the other side of things, though, places like this are in my backyard. Yesterday I drove 20 miles to where the plowing stops and ran 6 miles up the snowmobile groomed highway to this gem, plus many others. I’m so happy and proud to live among world class mountains, and to recreate in them as a weekly and sometimes daily occurrence. This special place is something you can’t find just anywhere, and I’d take all of this along with the small inconveniences 10x over.

There's no feeling quite like waking with the sun, making your way to the summit and being met with a vista like this one.
The summit is always worth it.
