If we all take a moment to look around us for a few seconds it’s easy to see people who are in need. The mama struggling to cope. The family who can’t afford to buy Christmas presents this year . The couple who’s marriage is falling apart . The lonely neighbor missing their grown up kids . The father who just lost his job . The mama who grieves their child.
It’s easy to think , when I have more time , more money , more resources , I’ll help .
That time will never come . We need to love in the now . Give now . Break bread with the lonely now . We need to FREAKING show up now. Not tomorrow . But today .
Thank you @madisonviningblog
for the reminder to give until it freaking hurts .
We are all capable of loving deeper. All capable of wiping away tears , and sitting with those in their hurt . It’s the way Jesus designed us . He designed us to see the needs of others and take action . He gave us hearts that bleed with others and hands to mend and heal .
Maybe it means sacrificing our time. Maybe it means sacrificing our income.
Maybe it means being uncomfortable .
It always means giving more of yourself .
This week , reach out to someone close to you and love them in ways you never have before . Can I hear an amen ?
