It's been a while since I did a what's in your lunch Wednesday Post?! It's almost a weekly occasion that I hear about skinny my kids are, or how I shelter them by not feeding them McDonald's, Burger King and Taco Bell to name a few. I think with the food that surrounds us and the busy lives so many of us lead, we are forever looking for quick options. Ultimately, stuffing our children with fast convenience food. Lets talk about this for a second. Real Convenience food is an apple, celery, carrot, cucumber, kiwi. It comes in its own packaging it's all biodegradable, full of fiber, nutrients and the best fuel for those curious-growing minds and bodies. My kids take part in school food days (which generally aren't healthy) and balance it with nourishing snacks like this one pictured. They are skinny because they eat whole foods and participate in various activities. Perhaps they aren't skinny, what if I told you they're average. They aren't snacking on fillers or preservatives and their treat foods are most often those found in my store @snacknbasket
My kids are not overweight or even the average size based on the doctor's average (keeping in mind the average size and weight of children is forever changing and based on a group of children supposedly monitored eating a "balanced diet"). The main thing is they're growing, flourishing and high on life (not sugar from terrible packaged snacks loaded with ingredients you can't pronounce). So thank you for your comment about my skinny, well nourished, back to basics eating child, I'm cool with how they're being raised. Are you okay with what your kids are eating?
