"It's water, it's water! Thank you God! Thank you Jesus!"
Just a few weeks ago, ABWE worker Carl Sexton traveled to the North West desert of Haiti. He went with one goal in mind; find a source of water for the village of Ti-Rivierre. Two years prior, the Sextons had seen women scooping murky, gray water into their jugs while goat dung was scattered about. They knew they had to do something.
Experience had taught the Sextons that when they provide physical water for hurting people, their hearts open wide to receive living water. But opposition from the enemy began on Carl's fourth day in Haiti – a broken down vehicle, a motorcycle accident resulting in broken ribs, and a random attack by a stranger on the road. Drilling sites were not approved because of poor road access. Carl was about to call it quits.
But God strengthened the Sextons through these Scripture verses Carl read during a Haitian worship service, from Psalm 114:7-8: “Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, who turned the rock into a pool, the hard rock into springs of water.”
Four days later, on April 6, the drilling company hit an abundant source of good water – an answer to more than 25 years of prayers! The Haitians shouted with joy, “It’s water, it’s water! Thank you God! Thank you Jesus!”
