💥💥HOW TO TRAIN ARMS 101!!!💥💥 - 😅I get so many questions from people who I haven’t seen in a year or two, Dennis, you’ve grown so much, how can I get those big arms as well? I’m aware my arms are bigger than your average human being’s arms but I think there’s a lot of potential progress to be made for me to actually say: “Yes I have big arms” Nevertheless, here’s my advice on getting those big guns! - 😉First, you need to understand that building big arms doesn’t start with doing any of the exercises in this graphic. Building your arms starts with doing the basic, compound exercises. Your biceps are involved when doing any pulling motion when you’re training your back. Your triceps are involved when doing any pushing motion when training shoulders and chest, so if you’re trying to build your arms and you’re neglecting your compound lifts, you’ve got no chance. - 👋When you do the compound movements and want to stack some extra arm volume on top of that, which is what I recommend for guys and gals trying to build their arms. I get it, girls don’t necessarily want to grow their biceps, you want a big ol’ booty, I get it. Dude’s pay close attention, if you want the big guns, here are my top 3 exercises for the tri’s and bi’s! - 💪Biceps: Barbell curls, Hammer curls and preacher curls! I think the combination of these 3 exercises will get you the most bang for your buck. Of course there are thousands of opinions out there, but personally I’ve found these 3 to be the most effective. - 💪Triceps: Overhead tricep extensions, skullcrushers and rope (or V-bar) pushdowns will get you the most bang for your buck!!! - 👉As I mentioned these are just 6 exercises out of thousands, but I think these basics will get you the most bang for your buck! Your brain could be preventing you from recovering faster! A study completed in 2013, looked at athletes who had ACL reconstruction surgery and identified key psychological outlook factors such as mental readiness and sense of control. They were able to predict with 70% accuracy, those who would make a full comeback within a year based off of the athlete’s outlook and mental state in regards to the injury. Another review of 11 studies found that emotions like fear and doubt prevented injured athletes from getting back to their sport, while those who were motivated and confident, despite performing worse than usual, were more likely to make a swift recovery. Here are a few tips to incorporate into your recovery process to help improve your outlook: 1. Tame stress: Incorporate deep-breathing exercises and meditation to help modulate your response to stress. 2. Seek support: A positive social network, like a running group, acts as a buffer against stress. 3. Rehab right: Acknowledge angst and frustrations by writing them down which can help you move on. 4. Shift your end zone: Trade in your running goals for rehab-oriented ones that are objective and flexible. 5. Change your self-talk: Imagine the reassuring words you’d offer an injured friend and imbue them on yourself. #medalmonday 🏅 This gem of a pic is me heading out on the bike course at Caloundra QTS in Feb. 2015. My very 1st ever tri! It was only an enticer so there really wasn't a medal, but thought it qualifies for getting out & giving it a go. ◾ At this morning's 🏊‍♀️ sesh, the pool was crowded & 3 of us were sharing a lane in a 25m pool. One guy ran into me twice when swimming the opposite direction! Most of us would usually get a bit cranky and annoyed but I've been working on my #mentalgame just as hard as my 🏋️‍♀️ game and refused to let it get to me. I finished my set and decided to have a chat with the bloke as he was resting. Turns out it's his 1st time and he's just started to train for his 1st ever triathlon in Feb at the GC Luke Harrop. ◾ This experience just reminded me it's important to be kind, inspire others, and support those around you.
