A walk through the Italian countryside with my #Hasselblad. #mediumformatphotography
Portrait I made in May of @samys_camera homegirl Karen, the hardest-workin' person in the photo business. When not at work, you can often find her shaping and tending to her backyard garden. Shot with my #PhaseOneXF #IQ3100MP camera and my #SchneiderKreuznach 80mm leaf-shutter lens. Lit with an #InterfitS1 shooting into a diffused #WestcottLighting 72" umbrella. 1/250s, 200 ISO, f/8. #EnvironmentalPortrait #Portraiture #LAphotography #MtWashington #Gardening #MediumFormatPhotography #InterfitPhoto #PhaseOnePhoto #CaptureOnePro #TetherTools

"I pray you, do not fall in love with me, for I am falser than vows made in wine." As You Like It Act 3, Scene 5 (Rosalind/Ganymede)
Always having been taught that heaven was directly above, I question now if looking down was a self-admission of worth, a question of inadequacy which I embraced with an affirmation by simply refusing to look out into the World or up to the Heavens. If I accepted the ground as Earth, did I accept the men who placed their feet upon it as gods or kings?
As a black man I would be critiqued for overt vulnerability. As a gay man I would be critiqued for overt sensuality. As a woman I would be critiqued for lack of censorship and threatening sexual liberty. Fuck criticism.
