🍵抹茶 m a t c h a, my heritage
I've made it back to Shiga, Nara + the Mountains of Kōyasan, Japan. 🎌
For me, matcha isn't a trend, it's my heritage & my family's tradition.
As I finish extensive editing on my next book, I'm staying in the mountains with monks, studying matcha.
I've already been to two local organic matcha farms to learn direct from the farmers and the soil.
I've been up at 6 am each am to pray and meditate with the monks. Listening to their chants always wells my eyes with tears.
I have two extensive sections on the green tea powder, in my new book. Let's keep traditions and cultural practices sacred 🍵⚡️⚡️⚡️if we don't educate or use it, we lose it. Keep wellness real, not for trends, money or marketing, wellness is about heritage + tradition. Matcha was created by the Japanese 🇯🇵 + perfected by the monks.
Werd up. Only difference on this trip vs earlier this year, I have a major tan from Fiji + Oz. 🍵🇯🇵✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼 follow my travel writing at @iamwellandgood
