I’m always surprised at how little is left after putting cooked #apples
through a food mill. About 20lbs of apples = 2.5+ gallons of #applesauce
and a little over two cups of seeds and skins (after cutting out a few of the cores and other icky bits before cooking). If you have sound apples and want to make cider vinegar you can “waste” a little more by coring and/or skinning the apples before cooking. But this is the easiest way, just rough chop, cook until soft, and then run through a food mill. And these remains will go to the #chickens
tomorrow, who will be beside themselves with glee.
