Yesterday I heard "Any one can slay a dragon but try waking up every morning and loving the world all over again. That’s what takes a real hero." The thought has stuck with me since I heard. That thought has stuck with me since I read those words. It’s so true. People can work all their lives for enormous acts, or be at the right place at the right time, and save someone’s life or whatever- and all those people are heroes. Most definitely, they are inspiring.
Beyond that – maybe even more than that – I find inspiration in the people I know who LOVE the world every single day, even though they know it is going to hurt. Major loss doesn’t happen to everyone, but really shitty things do. Heartbreaking moments happen in all our lives, perhaps in each day of some of our lives. The world provides plenty of opportunities for us to decide to shut down, to stop trying, to armor the heart, to give up on love.
To make the decision to open your heart to love, time and again, regardless of the limitless possibility for heartbreak – that is absolutely an act of heroism. An open heart could be crushed at any time. How scary is that? But an open heart is a loving heart. Even with the pain that can bring, it is also where the magic is hidden.
I’m really proud of all of us who are opening up to love again. It doesn’t have to be every day – but by showing up, by walking forward, by participating in this crazy world – you are also a hero. As my friend recently said to me, as a much needed dose " You are awesome, keep that shit up." 😂 #life #lifeisbeautiful #lifeisgreat #sun #sunrise #sunlight #love #skylovers #ocean #oceanbeach #soul #soulfood #happy #happiness #soulcycle #motivation #positivevibes #positive #positivethoughts #hero #heros #friends
