So many times in leadership we promote people into incompetency - sometimes to fill a hole, sometimes to speed things up. Even if they grow in character and pray for divine intervention, the whole thing is a poison chalice - it’s beyond their capacity, ability and season. To mask that feeling of drowning and the sins of failure, as well as reacting to your obvious frustrations, they turn nasty on the one who promoted them (you) and the system that channeled it. Sure, they need to greatly fix their attitude, but because you gave birth to it, you can’t just turn on them and simply dismiss them. You need to know what God’s plan A really is for them. We must try to lead them to their place of thriving without it looking like a demotion. We are obliged to become their visionary. Be very humble when hit by bricks. - Senior Pastor Dave Gilpin.
