A hazy, tranquil, beautiful sunset over the Pacific, ending the Labor Day weekend. The weather wasn’t even that cold here, thanks to the ongoing heat wave the state was still experiencing… This was during me & my family’s Labor Day weekend outing here at Half Moon Bay State Beach around Half Moon Bay, CA. This beach has 4 miles of broad, sandy beaches stretched out to welcome visitors to Half Moon Bay. This picturesque setting is ideal for sunbathing, fishing and picnicking. On clear, fogless evenings, this beach has a front row seat for sunsets over the Pacific. Our outing in summary:
We reserved our spot at the picnic tables right at the edge of the beach just after 7:15 a.m. or so. Once we were setting up, lots of people quickly filled up the empty parking lot and the picnic tables swiftly filled up… By mid-morning, the rest of our family arrived and we ate our brunch. From then on, we pretty much enjoyed our time by the sea, away from the intense inland heat wave we’ve been having. I just chilled in one spot, taking in the cool refreshing sea breeze and ocean views right in front of me. We later took in the gorgeous but hazy sunset over the sea. We stayed until evening (until the parking lot emptied, though we still got caught in the crazy traffic as we tried to head back onto Highway 92!). Uncle Ricky also wanted to do some night fishing while waiting for the traffic to die down. Me, Steven & Jesse were keeping him company. After enduring chaotic, ‘Madras-like’ traffic around Half Moon Bay, we finally arrived back home just after 11:30 p.m. What a fun Labor Day outing I had with the fambam! People lining up along the beach to see the sun slowly start to fade over the Pacific… Just simply beautiful indeed! A ‘test shot’ of my fambam with the sunset behind. Although it’s a test shot, I find this pic quite good already!
