to pick up a book for my brother-in-law. While giving my kids some time to play with the train set, I got a chance to read some really good kidlit. These two books both discuss overcoming feelings of fear and anxiety. 😕
AFTER THE FALL (2017) by Dan Santat ( @dsantat
) acts as an epilogue to Humpty Dumpty (and also lets us know why he was up on that wall in the first place). Feeling traumatized about the fall, he’s scared to climb the wall again. But, he’s missing out on something he loves. How can he conquer his fear, and how does he feel when he does? (The way the ending is illustrated is my favorite part.) Published by #RoaringBookPress

A FEEL BETTER BOOK FOR LITTLE WORRIERS (2017) is a book written in rhyme that helps kids identify feelings of anxiety and understand potential reasons for/causes of it. It then teaches them some tools to combat those feelings—while also letting them know to talk to a trusted grownup about it. I thought it was really well-done! It’s published by the American Psychological Association’s #maginationpress
