This is intended to be a fun / entertaining video, but I have a serious message. . I've been giving a lot of thought lately to the past. . Growing up an athlete my whole life, I was used to the adrenaline rush I would get from a big play. . Or the burst of energy I would receive after a "pop" from the crowd. . All athletes can relate to this. . So lately I've been thinking, will I ever experience these feelings again? . It's more addicting than any food, drug or experience. . Unfortunately, I haven't found a solution yet. I may never get that rush again. . Part of what I loved so much about sports was exactly that feeling I got. The feeling where you can let go of everything. Be 100% immersed in the moment. Swallowed with pride. . The moments that literally gave you goosebumps even when you're dripping with sweat. . The reason I associate this post with this video is because the punching bag is something I search for to replace that feeling. Couple it with some intense music and I almost accomplish it. . But not quite. I'm afraid I never will. . I've tried intramural sports. Not the same. . Maybe it's public speaking? . Instead of doing a #TransformationTuesday this week, I want to start posting a #TransparentTuesday trend. I love sharing my experiences with others to not only connect with other people who have gone through similar or the same experiences, good and/or bad decisions, and help not only myself grow but share with others in the process too❤️ Left Picture: September 2016, Ketogenic Style Diet & 7 days 30 min fasted walk (nothing too crazy) There wasn't anything wrong with the look I brought to the stage back in September, but mentally I was exhausted. I had prepped for TOO long (by MY CHOICE) and needed to seriously take a step back and mentally work on myself. I was starting to develop disordered eating patterns aka feeling like I needed to weigh everything, not allowing myself ANY flexibility within my diet, and feeling anxious about food situations. I VOWED for the longest time NEVER to get like this but yet I'm not perfect, I'm human. I eff up sometimes too guys!!! It happens!!! After some changes and taking time off mentally to ENJOY life and all of life's experiences aka I moved to a new place, began a new job, and started a whole new chapter📕Right Picture: April 2017 I can confidently say I am no longer struggling with anxiety surrounding food, I am FULL of energy (for the most part, yes not ever damn day am I jumping for joy lol), crushing my lifts, and learning how to enjoy the process to the national stage. I see every training session as a new opportunity to improve in volume or in strength or in mentality. I see food as a source of FUEL instead of punishment. Welcome #betsheCAN DAY 3! . So given where you landed with the Uttanasana on the blocks either stay here working the hamstrings and/or try DAY 3! Hamstring flexibility is gonna be key here! . So we're going to practice a fun little drill I learned from my one of my favorite @ellavateyoga where you practice little tiny floats up and down your mat. Keep in mind you might get your toes up completely, but try to use the below as a recipe with the possibility of working in that direction. . Use a strap just a little above your elbows to hug them IN. This will also keep your arms straight and stacked. With your inhale come to your highest tip toes, draw your navel in toward the spine, plant your hands firmly to the mat spreading your fingers nice and wide, draw the navel in even MORE lifting the hips up to your highest point (work on the blocks and shifts forward will help here) and the biggest cue for me that got me to float was LIFT your kneecaps and keep them engaged as you shift for forward! Shit, that's a lot to think of and that was only the inhale. . Now at the bottom of your exhale KEEP kneecaps lifted. If you're taking a video LOOK at your knees and most of you might see a release of the kneecaps when you try to float forward. This was MY issue and once I saw myself the cue then made sense and the work for keeping that engagement happened. . You'll notice how SLOW I try each attempt. I am THINKING each step through, sometimes I even spoke it aloud because it took that much work to really understand what my body needed to do. I was creating body memory nice and slow. You'll see more progress with fewer, but quality attempts vs multiple thoughtless ones! Make each one count! . Try it with the strap and then see where you might be without it. Again, the idea isn't to nail a DAY. It's you practicing with me for 10 days authentically from YOUR space. Only add on when you're ready so if for 10 days you try and stick with Uttanasana on blocks you'll be that much closer. This is what this journey is about. Love you guys! Had my final weigh in today for our biggest looser contest at work. 3 months of dieting is madness but I worked my ass off and am so excited to see the progress. 2-3 hours in the gym most days , macro subsidizing from high to low. I came in 2nd place , but I am extremely proud of myself either way. No fast food , cooking for dinner most nights. Had a few slip ups here and there , but I always made up for it the next day. You are always capable of change it's the work and effort you put in that makes or breaks you. Now it's officially my cheat day and I am so excited! Love working out at home with BOTH of my girlies💖 Working out, doing yoga, and eating healthy has made me feel so much better this pregnancy! SALGADO FIT .  INGREDIENTES: . 🐔250g peito de frango cozido e desfiado (gosto de cozinhar o peito de frango na pressão com 1 talo de salsão, 1/2 cenoura, cebola, alho, pimenta em grãos e folhas de louro com água: depois de cozido eu separo o frango e o caldo que passo pela peneira e congelo para usar em outras preparações). 🐔120g batata cozida (bem macia) ou cenoura/ couve-flor / mandioca 🐔Ervas frescas a gosto (uso salsinha e coentro) 🐔Sal e pimenta do reino 🐔1/2 cebola picada em cubinhos 🐔2 dentes de alho amassados 🐔Queijo muçarela de búfala em cubos para rechear (opcional) 🐔Azeite para pincelar 🐔Gergelim (opcional) . . PREPARO . Em uma panela refogue a cebola e o alho em um pouquinho de azeite até a cebola ficar transparente, acrescente o peito de frango desfiado, tempere com sal e pimenta a gosto e misture bem. . No processador de alimentos coloque as batatas cozidas e processe até virar um purê (não precisa bater muito). Acrescente o frango, salsinha e coentro e processe até formar uma massa. Modele a massa colocando um pedaço de muçarela de bufala no centro de cada salgado. Pincele o salgado com o azeite e polvilhe o gergelim. . Pronto, agora você já pode assar o salgado em forno convencional ou na  #airfryer até que fique douradinho por fora.
