Hey guys I’ve been meaning to write this blog post for the last four months, but I have just been soaking up all of the beautifulness of motherhood….OK let’s cut the crap! – I’ve been elbow deep in shitty nappies and dodging wee and puke explosions! 💩💥🙊 So let’s talk about Scarlett’s birth story… Wait for it….I had an elective C-Section (gasp!) That’s right ELECTIVE! Was OK with the idea of a C-section to begin with? Helllll no! But I’m telling you now guys, now that I’ve experienced it, I’d never do birth any other way!
During my pregnancy I was judged for making this decision by a range of different people. And my decision was based on the fact that my back injury could potentially worsen, so for me it was a no-brainer. But it really was an eye-opener to see just how many people were quick to judge and crucify me for my decision. On one occasion where I spoke about it openly I got crucified for a) not having a drug free birth and b) for electing a C-section. Luckily for me having the ability to switch off and not take people’s crap is something that I have mastered over the years so I didn’t let it bother me. But why is it that women are so quick to judge other women? Yes I gave birth through by elective C-section and yes it was easy and I’m not afraid to say it.
If an elective C-section is something you’re considering, I would highly recommend you contact Adelaide Obstetrics.
The staff at Adelaide Obstetrics @adelobsfertility
are the BEST and they will never judge you. My Obstetrician, Dr Simona Fischer is honestly the best doc I have ever met! – Without sounding stalker-ish, I actually miss seeing her!!! She is so chillaxed and made us feel comfortable from the get-go. Simona is the actual queen of the C-sections. A C-section with Simona was legit less painful than having my tonsils out. I was out of bed and walking around pain-free the next day. - And my scar…. What scar?!!? If you want to know the full story - Click on the link in my bio.
