I had fun at the show this weekend. Except for the part where I fell off after a jump, and landed on my knee. I got lucky that It's not broken, but I'm stuck in a knee immobilizer until the follow up with my doctor, or whenever they tell me to take it off. 😑
It seems like when I'm at shows I forget how to ride and do horrible. I know I can ride allright, because the night before the show I did a harder course in my lesson. I have also improved a lot in the last few months with riding in general. Then on one of the most simplist courses a show can have I fall off at the last jump.
Once I'm able to ride again, I'm going to take a break from jumping and focus on flatwork, and work on some western stuff like barrels. All I can do from here is to heal up and go out and improve my riding. Hopefully I can do that in a week or two.
It also annoys me that people automatically assume the horse had cause the injury, when it was completely my fault. Julio was just doing what I asked him to do and didn't go crazy for whatever horse reson that make horses act up.
Julio takes care of me, because there have been times where he could of said, "Screw you," and buck me off. I would of deserve it, but he lets me know when I screw up in a kinder way, like by looking back and giving me the stink eye. 😐 I never knew horses were able to do that.
I honestly think Julio deserves a better rider, so my goal from now on is to be the better rider he deserves.
