G O O D B Y E 2 0 1 7 // FINISH STRONG
As someone who has played sports all my life, I believe in the importance of finishing strong. You give everything you have in the fourth quarter, sweat pouring down your face and muscles aching. But as 2017 nears its end, I believe that the meaning of finishing strong looks entirely different. It is less about sheer force and will power, but instead, quiet places and reflection. Through holiday parties, gift exchanges, and last minute holiday shopping, I urge you to create these quiet spaces, both physically and in your heart.
For me, 2017 was short and long, it was a blessing and exhausting, it was a time of big changes and a time of steady growth. What was this past year like for you?
I do not want 2017 to end without you taking the opportunity to look at this past year in your life and think about how it has impacted you. It isn't the highs and wins that make a year great. 2017 was great because you were present everyday and tried your best. It wasn't always pretty, but pretty is overrated. So is perfect. // What I believe is important is your grit, and I hope you can say that you accomplished that, even if it it looks windy and unremarkable. Because you are here, exactly where you are supposed to be -- preparing for the next year and -- finishing strong.
