Overtraining is real and your child could be sitting on the sidelines for months or years recovering from excessive training. And not even mentioning they can suffer from eating disorders, malnutrition and depression in extreme cases.
We've said this before and now the data just validates the issues we see with coaches and parents lack of understanding of youth athletic development, physical maturation and growth.
The focus should be on long-term development of purposeful training leading to a bigger goal in the future.
