harry looked down at his shoes, a flurry of feelings enveloping his worn out heart. the feeling of love stood out from the rest, and he knew he couldn't be sure, but he had a vague idea of who was doing this to him.
harry potter knew he was in love with draco malfoy.
he looked up, sudden, hearing footsteps bringing somebody closer to the corner of the library he sat in, and he hurriedly picked up a book, pretending to read.
malfoy's familiar face peeked around the shelf in front of harry, a glimmer of relief on his face before it was replaced with his usual arrogant sneer. "well, potter, i didn't think i'd find you here," draco muttered, before sitting down suspiciously close to harry.
harry smiled an awkward smile, trying to go back to his book. "harry," whispered draco, gentler in tone this time. "i thought you'd be courteous enough to indulge me in some conversation." harry frowned. "well," he cleared his throat, "what would you like to talk about?" draco noticed a certain nervousness about harry, but grinned anyway. he looked around for a conversation starter, something that was innocuous enough to sound friendly but with an underlying risqué nature that would slowly alert potter to draco's true intentions.
draco suddenly pointed at the book in harry's lap. "isn't that the textbook for care of magical creatures? studying up for the OWL?" harry grinned. "not really. just reading a little, i guess. the author of this book must have been a brilliant man." draco put his hand on harry's knee, trying to add tension to the conversation, while potter droned on and on about newt scamander, nervously rambling because he could feel the warmth in draco's hand, and he nearly imagined the warmth of that very hand on his cheek, pulling him in for a kiss- before the hand was pulled away and harry drifted back to reality.
draco looked at harry, as if waiting for an answer, and harry realized must've missed something while he was in his daze. "i'm sorry, what?" (continued in comments)
